Africa Regional Services (ARS Paris) is the primary source of French language program materials for American Cultural Centers at U.S. embassies throughout francophone Africa.

It is a branch of the Department of State's Bureau of African Affairs and was established in 1962 as a center for cultural and information programs and services in French.

HIV/AIDS awareness


The African Regional Services Video DVD Loan Library Program is a revolving collection of American films and documentaries either in English version, 

English version with French subtitles or French and Portuguese version.  

The collection includes well-known classics and documentaries as well as recent releases.  There is also a large number of  Worldnet programs produced by the former USIA and present  Office of Broadcast Services, videos and  DVDs  on subject ranging from

democracy and human rights,
information and mass media,
to global issues,
U.S. society and values,
U.S. history and the American cinema.

Videotapes in English version with French subtitles, or French and Portuguese are in VHS/Secam format; English versions without subtitles are usually in PAL. The ARS Video DVD Loan Library includes 557 titles in DVD format.
